Diving into: Relationships

Relationships can be very difficult and require effort to thrive. Through all the ups and downs it can be very hard to keep steadfast in our love for the lord and continue to pursue both our relationship with our partner, boyfriend or friends while also digging into Gods word. Here is a little dive into the topic of relationships and how we can be excited to pursue a Godly relationship, the relationship path that was made for us, and most of all God.

Growing up I always fantasized about the boy that I wanted to be friends with, date and Marry. Making standards of what I expect in a relationship. As I grew older not only my faith but also learning from my previous relationships, desires and hopes for a relationship have changed. Personality traits, personal relationship with God became something that I wanted to convey in a relationship and wanted my partner and friends to as well.

My previous relationship has taught me that my standards and expectations are not things that I necessarily value anymore. My previous relationship was not God honoring and led to me drifting away from God. I was not being pursued, loved or getting validation either which just brought confusion and I lost my sense of worth. Four months in that relationship taught me that without God in the center of it, without both people putting God first it makes it harder. Dating and Marriage comes with struggles but with God in the center of it, the confusion, miscommunication and anxiety lessens. The strength of God is in each individual.
